In April of 2022, the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) received approval to implement a Section 1115 Substance Use Disorder Demonstration Waiver. This demonstration includes an expansion of substance use disorder (SUD) services for all HUSKY Health members, including the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP), or HUSKY B members. What this expansion allows is coverage for residential and inpatient SUD treatment, as well as all levels of withdrawal management.
